My approach is highly creative and personal. I remain curious and approach each portrait session with an open mind, year long experience in photography and the desire to bring out what makes you unique and special. My interest in photography goes back a decade, when I started my University degree in Visual Communication with a focus on photography. I don't want to produce the same photo over and over again but rather create something new and special each time I shoot. I am always trying out new things, learning new techniques and am spending energy to perfect my photography and editing skills. Having said that I also try to embrace the imperfections, the moments of chance and am open to be inspired. Both you and me are human beings and to me the most interesting thing is not a perfect facade but the vulnerability and individual spark. This is what I am trying to bring out with my photos, the essence, what makes you, you. Since this is only possible in an environment of trust I am working hard to create this both in the planning but also on the day of the shoot.
Each portrait session starts with an exchange. What is it you need the photographs for, what would you like to focus on and how would you like to present yourself. Through talking about these things I can create photographs that will reflect how you see yourself. After this first exchange I will create a concept for you, share my idea of how we could create what you are envisioning and we start planning the shoot.
On the day of the shoot we will either meet in my little studio or at a different location, get settled in and start the session in a relaxed way. There will be no rushing, if you book a session with me, I will be focused on you and our creative project. I will guide you through the portrait session with some ideas for poses or creative expression, depending on how familiar or comfortable you are in front of the session this will vary. But I will be there to help you, explain what I am doing and why I am doing it, so that you understand what is happening and have some control over the process as well. I want you to feel safe, empowered and able to express yourself in a nonjudgemental environment.
